About the Event

Join The Loss Project for an interactive online session that explores how books have influenced, inspired or shifted our experiences of grief and loss, or of being alongside those who are. The session will be informal, relaxed and friendly and all are welcome. You can join in as much or as little as you want to but we will be encouraging everybody to participate and there will be breakout rooms. Come prepared with a piece of writing fiction or non-fiction that has influenced your experiences of grief and loss and be able to talk a bit about it. We normally have a wonderfully curated book list by the group often finding hidden gems that were undiscovered before.

We will be holding a safe space to explore how grief and bereavement touches all of us at some point in our lives, and how books and creativity can be a great way to help us to engage with these difficult topics and express ourselves. We look forward to welcoming you.

This event is inspired by the Novels that Shaped our World and our partnership with the Death Positive Libraries Initiative [https://www.facebook.com/DeathPositiveLibrary]. The session structure follows the #spoonroom format developed by our friends and partners Camerados [https://www.camerados.org/spoonrooms/].

All are welcome, we can't wait to meet you.

NB: These sessions are not therapy sessions and we are not trained therapists. However we know that having places to connect, share and be in a friendly environment can be very therapeutic! You'll have time to share as much or as little of your story as you want to and we hope that books and creativity offers us a way into something that can often be difficult to talk about.
